About Titan

Titan came to us from a home where several of his health and grooming needs had gone unaddressed. He was living in a small space without much opportunity for exercise, his nails were extremely overgrown, and he was experiencing untreated allergy symptoms.

  • German Shepherd, approximately 6 years old

  • Friendly, affectionate, and loves people

  • Excellent overall temperament

  • Fantastic with children, including my 1- and 4-year-old

  • Generally dog-neutral, but would not be a good match for a dominant male dog

  • Would likely do best with a calm female dog or as the only dog

  • Fine around chickens overall. He may occasionally try to chase them, but he is easily called off

  • I was told he has previously done well with cats, but I have not personally tested him around them

Health

  • Intact male, 75 lbs

  • Up to date on all vaccines

  • He is currently on Bravecto for flea/tick prevention and Sentinel for heartworms

  • During his vet visits, we did a full senior checkup on him that included extensive bloodwork, ultrasounds and x-rays. He’s very healthy!

  • He also had a dental cleaning and had his front incisors removed as they were very worn down.

  • Titan’s allergy symptoms, primarily involving his ears, cleared up quickly with medication. However, allergies may be an ongoing issue and could require future treatment or maintenance medication. His adopter must be willing and financially prepared to manage this if needed.

Training

  • He is potty trained

  • Rides well in car

  • Walks well around other dogs without showing leash reactivity

  • His previous owner never crated him, but we have since we’ve had him. Considering he’s never been crated, he does excellent. If you’re not in the room with him, sometimes he’ll bark a little, but he settles quickly.

  • He knows sit and lay down

  • He sometimes jumps up on new people if he’s very very excited, but he’s rarely jumped on us at home.
